Swanage Town & Herston 4Weymouth FC Youth 3Dorset County Youth League Under 18s Division 1Sunday 3 May 2009 As seen by Paul Brassington Swans Finish Successful Season In StyleSwanage finished off the season in superb style after coming out on top in a 7 goal feast at home to Weymouth.
Swans found themselves 0-1 down after 17 minutes, but March kept Swans in the game with two great saves before Swans scored two goals in three minutes.
First SPETCH scored from close range after fine work by Currell, and then the roles were reversed as CURRELL fired the home side ahead on 33 minutes. Half Time: 2-1. Swans were caught on the back foot at the start of the second half as Weymouth grabbed an equaliser just two minutes after the break.
BEST then put Swans back in front just ten minutes later in a game which was a real end to end contest.
True to form, just minutes later and Weymouth got back on level terms at 3-3.
Both sides looked likely to score more and Spetch had a effort ruled out for offside.
With just six minutes left Best played in SPETCH with a perfect pass and he struck home his 32nd goal of the season to clinch the points for Swans. Manager Paul Brassington was pleased with the way the team rounded off the season, telling the website that, "this win puts us in the top half of the table at the end. We only lost 8 of our 25 competitive league and cup games this season, and the youth team can be proud of their season and the Club can be proud of their efforts as well ".
