As an incentive to the first team in September - virtualswans.com will fully sponsor one player for every Dorset Premier League point gained during the month (starting 6 September 2008 away at Hamworthy). The players on the golden boot leaderboard will get preference for sponsorship. Furthermore, if Swans get a bumper amount of points (let's hope!) then Jason Phillips can nominate additional players to receive their kit sponsorship being paid for the season. Solid Swans Secure Second Successive 3-0 WinHamworthy United Reserves 0 Swanage Town & Herston 3 Swanage travelled to the County Ground today to face Hamworthy United Reserves in a Dorset Premier League clash, and came away with all three points after a solid performance, in a match they bossed the majority of the afternoon. Once again, Swans created a hatful of chances and could have easily won by five or six. Gary Fooks, putting in another solid showing, set up Richard Sands for a blistering strike into the top corner to hand Swans the opening goal on 24 minutes, and from then on, there was only one winner as Swans played some good passing football. Some neat footwork around the edge of the box from Jamie Holland then set up Aaron Corby on 31 minutes, as his sharp shot from the edge of the D took a slight deflection to make it 0-2 at half time. Jimmy Hollywood made a smart save early on in the second period, but Swans continued to carve open the home defence. On 50 minutes the game as a contest was all but over when Jamie Holland, who is starting to get back to his best, finished neatly at the near post from a right wing cross to make it 0-3. Swanage controlled the game til the final whistle, although Hamworthy did get a few breakaway chances toward the end, but Andrew Bartlett's defending and Hollywood's reflexes ensured Swans kept a third clean sheet from their fourth game. Further chances were created by Swans, but some good late tackles and some poor finishing from the visitors prevented any more goals. This was a good solid performance from Jason Phillips' side, and the three points lifts Swans to sixth in the DPL table. Match Report by Mark Chadderton - click here
